Selection

Co-extrusion, embossed, and grooved decking are not three names for the same thing.

Choose by surface system, cleaning requirement, traffic level, and budget.

Comparison Table

Start with the surface system and the buyer problem it solves.

Type Main strength Typical fit
Co-extrusion deckingCleaner surface logic and stronger weather-facing protection storyHigher-exposure terraces, hospitality, premium distributor programs
Embossed deckingDeeper wood-grain look and warmer timber-like visual languageResidential and light commercial zones where look matters strongly
Grooved deckingPractical anti-slip oriented surface language and broad project value fitPublic walkways, mixed-use decks, and broader volume distribution

When To Use Each

The buyer should choose by cleaning pressure, design target, and traffic level.

  • Choose co-extrusion first when the project faces heavier exposure, poolside cleaning pressure, or a more premium supply brief.
  • Choose embossed first when the buyer wants the strongest timber-style texture and is not choosing mainly by stain-cleaning logic.
  • Choose grooved first when anti-slip language, public-use traction, and value-oriented volume matter more than a richer surface story.

Buyer Checklist

Four questions usually narrow the shortlist fast.

  • Is the main priority easy cleaning, deeper visual texture, or anti-slip behavior?
  • Is the deck residential, hospitality, commercial, or public-use?
  • Does the project need hollow or solid profile logic?
  • Will the buyer need samples, CAD, or test sheets before RFQ approval?
